In this segment of the documentary,
I wanted to capture the experience of public transport, which includes overheard conversations between people you will never meet. As I listened to the audio, I imagined
how I could portray these girls
with distinct designs while still maintaining their anonymity.

Far from the finished product, the conception of this documentary has its origins in scrappy sketches (2), on-the-go notebooks, and real-world experiences. Because I could visualize the shots, the audio, and the pacing in my head, jotting these visions down into a loose storyboard (3) felt like second nature. This step was crucial because I later put it directly into AfterEffects to use it to block out pacing, map where shots were missing, and remember what music to cue and when to cue it. This step alone made the formation of the documentary much easier.
